Chief Geotechnical Consultant

Anirudhan I V M.Tech. in Geotechnique (IIT Kanpur, 1981)

Anirudhan IV is a Geotechnical consultant based in Chennai, India. He graduated in Civil Engineering with specialisation in Geotechnical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, India, in 1981 after obtaining B.Sc. Engg. (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Calicut in the year 1978. His career as an independent consultant started in 1987 after associating with a leading consultancy firm for seven years. His major field of expertise is in Deep Foundations, Ground Improvement and Geotechnical characterisation. His organization, Geotechnical Solutions, executed more than 2000 small and medium geotechnical investigations and provided foundation recommendations. He is actively involved in the activities of the Indian Geotechnical Society and Deep Foundations Institute of India and conducted several conferences, workshops and seminars. He was the chairman of the Deep Foundations Institute of India. He also served as the chairman and honorary secretary of the Chennai Chapter of the IGS. He was a member of TC-302 of ISSMGE on Forensic Engineering, TC-301 of ISSMGE on Historic Sites and the convener of TC-04 of the Indian Geotechnical Society on Geotechnical Investigation. He has authored and published several technical papers, the guideline manual on Lateritic Soils, the guideline manual on Geotechnical Investigation, and the design manual for Continuous Flight Augured Piles.

Principal Geotechnical Consultant Under the Mentorship of Anirudhan I V

Started career under the guidance and leadership of Sasidharan K (Retd) DGM Cochin Shipyard Limited. Then subordinate to the authority in-charge in the execution of 4.5 m deep foundation for a plate cutting machine, India's first 300 tonne Gantry crane and extension of Hull shop in Cochin shipyard limited. Also involved in the preparation estimation and design of RCC structures, execution of civil structures including pile foundations and Industrial steel structures with EOT cranes.

  • Invovled in the tendering and documentation for maintenance of Cargo wharfs and breakwater while posted as Assistant engineer (Provisional) at Dept of Harbour engineering, Govt of Kerala.
  • Involved in Rebar/Reinforcement detailing using software STRAKON at Indigo Concepts , Infopark, Cochin.
  • Association with CKT Infrastructure Pvt LTD company helped in developing the managerial and operational skills .
  • Being the Technical manager of a NABL laboratory helped in gaining insight into the technical aspects of testing soil, cement, concrete and steel.
  • Was Instrumental in service of an AWHO housing society as a technical committee member.
